Worth the wait: Museum opens after 25 years of campaigning

After trying to open a museum to showcase their town’s rich history for a quarter of a century, Musselburgh residents have finally got their way.

The brand new Musselburgh Museum was unveiled on Wednesday 30th March, with the public able to see the result of 25 years of campaigning and organisation.  ClickNetherfield are proud to have supplied the display cases for the museum.

Visitors will be able to learn about the Roman camps around the area and the industries that have kept the town going over the years.

The Musselburgh Museum Committee were given a grant of £250,000 by East Lothian Council for the refurbishment of the building. It was initially hoped that the attraction would open its doors last year, but work took longer than planned.

The museum will be run by 30 volunteers and will only be open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
