The Exhibition Space of the Future


The conference, “The Exhibition Space of the Future”, will be held on the 9th December 2010 at the Hochhauser Auditorium, V&A Museum, in London. The conference is dedicated to the changing face of exhibition galleries at the beginning of this century.

The conference aims to look forward at new designs and techniques, which are currently being used across the world through a number of interesting presentations.

The Exhibition Space of the Future, addresses a number of topics to providing a comprehensive study for those involved in the design and management of the museum gallery specification process.

Museum gallery specifications pose significant questions in terms of exhibit conservation, aesthetics and security whilst maximising display visibility within environmental constraints. At the same time, advances in technology and design can now offer solutions to meet a wide range of client demands.

Your hosts for the event will be ClickNetherfield, world leaders in showcase design and fabrication, in conjunction with SCHOTT, international specialists in glass and lighting. Experts in their respective fields will support the event with presentations on the key areas of material selection, design, security, lighting and conservation.

Conference Overview

The Conference will provide:

  • An insight by the Director of the Israel Museum into their 5 year re-building project, this opened in August 2010
  • An innovative approach to showcase design and specification
  • A look at how “social media” is making an impact on the future of galleries, and museums in general
  • A look at lighting design with the large scale use of LEDs
