01/12/2009

Liverpool  Museums landmark project, the new Museum of Liverpool, is coming to life on the Mann Island site, at the core of the World Heritage site on the city’s famous waterfront.  Contracted to provide the showcases and the flexible exhibition systems for this project, we are very pleased to be part of the team for this challenging project.

Liverpool Museum

The new Museum of Liverpool is the latest project developed by the National Museums of Liverpool in the city, which was appointed Capital of Culture in 2008. The new Museum is aiming to become one of the world’s leading city history museums and at giving the social history museum discipline an international profile.

Opening in 2011, it will be housed in a new landmark building at the Pier Head of the city, and will be the largest newly built national museum in the UK for over a hundred years. In its 8000 square metres of public space, the £72m Museum will display more than 6000 objects, many of which have never been on display before. It will tell the Liverpool story through archaeological material, social and urban history objects, oral testimonies, entomology collections, botanic collections, photographic archives, costume and decorative art collections.

ClickNetherfield are proud to be chosen for their development expertise and look forward to working closely with the client design team of Haley Sharpe and Redman Design.
