Hunterian Museum

Location The Royal College of Surgeons, London / Designers: Casson Mann / Fit-Out: Beck Interiors

The Royal College of Surgeons of England boasts over 70,000 items across collections of anatomical and pathological specimens, models, instruments, paintings, and sculptures, showcasing the art and science of surgery from the 17th century right up to the present day.

Working closely with the museum and project teams, we translated the exhibition vision into a sophisticated suite of showcases that balances elegant presentation with the highest standards of security, conservation and functionality. Every aspect was carefully considered to meet the project’s exacting specifications while providing an outstanding environment for the display and preservation of significant objects.

Delivered through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the project was a testament to the strength of our collaborative approach. Through close communication, flexibility and a shared commitment to excellence, we successfully delivered a prestigious showcase installation worthy of one of the world’s leading surgical collections.

We were extremely proud to work with the Hunterian Museum for the first time around 25 years ago, and were thrilled to be chosen to collaborate on delivering their vision for the new museum.
