Click Netherfield designed, manufactured and installed 13 bespoke display cases within the Grade I-listed Norwich Castle Keep, set atop a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
Working closely with the project team, our heritage-sensitive approach ensured the showcases complemented the historic architecture while supporting an immersive visitor experience. The castle’s unique setting presented significant logistical challenges, including restricted access and limited storage, with large glass components transported across the castle bridge using smaller vehicles.
Careful planning, non-invasive installation methods and meticulously crafted case finishes enabled the showcases to integrate seamlessly into the galleries, providing secure, conservation-focused environments for the collections while allowing the remarkable history of Norwich Castle to take centre stage for modern audiences.
“Norwich Castle was an extraordinary site to work in. Balancing craftsmanship, modern interpretation and conservation within a 900-year-old structure was a unique challenge, and it was a privilege to be part of such a landmark project.”
