Chateau musee picasso
Drawings and paintings by Pablo Picasso, plus work by many other important 20th century artists.
The Picasso Museum of Antibes, set up in the Grimaldi Castle on the seafront, reopened in July 2008.
A complete refurbishment campaign of the listed building, launched in 2006, has led to the definition of stunning exhibition spaces in all the castle rooms.
The refurbishment and fit-out project of the Picasso Museum has been developed to make modernity enter this historical building, while preserving the magic spirit of the place, the memories of Antibes and Picasso's influence.
With the curator Jean-Louis Andral, we have ensured a strong focus on the integration of the technical elements involved in the modernisation of the museum, while preserving the original materials and spaces.
The bespoke cases have been developed for the project with this concern in mind. With their uncluttered fronts and their minimalist materials, they are perfectly integrated in the existing architecture. They include all the equipment necessary for the presentation, conservation and security of the exhibits (fibre optic lighting, vents, anti-bandit glass, etc).
